How Doodlebug collects, uses, stores and protects your information — and your child's — when you use our app and website.
The short version: your child's records belong to you. We store them so the app works across your devices and family, we never sell them, we never use them for advertising, and we never use them to train AI models. Delete your account and they're deleted too.
Doodlebug (“Doodlebug”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share information when you use the Doodlebug mobile app and the getdoodlebug.com website (the “Services”).
Doodlebug is operated by Tikiri Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17370750).
Doodlebug is available worldwide. For the purposes of data protection laws such as the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Tikiri Labs Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Some of this — medicines, temperature, symptoms, growth — is health information, which many privacy laws (including the UK and EU GDPR) treat as sensitive or special category data. We process it only because you choose to record it, and only to provide the Services (see section 6).
If you use the in-app assistant, the questions you ask and relevant context from your logs are processed to generate an answer (see section 5).
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and processed by them together with our subscription partner RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details. We receive limited subscription data such as your subscription status, product identifier and transaction identifiers.
If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect your email address and any survey answers you choose to give, and use them only to contact you about Doodlebug's launch and early access.
We do not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
Doodlebug is offline-first. Your logs are stored on your own device and keep working without a connection. When you're online, your data syncs — encrypted in transit — to our servers so that:

Doodlebug's assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you ask a question, your message and relevant context from your logs are sent to Anthropic to generate the answer. Under our agreement with Anthropic, API data is not used to train their models, and Anthropic retains it only for a short period for trust and safety monitoring, in line with their API terms.

We share your child's records with the caregivers you invite — that is the point of inviting them — and with no other users.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect our rights, our users or the security of the Services.
Doodlebug is used worldwide and our service providers operate global infrastructure, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where data protection law requires safeguards for such transfers — for example under the UK or EU GDPR — we rely on appropriate measures such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. In practice:

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law (such as California), you have comparable rights to know, access, correct and delete your personal data. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for targeted advertising. Information about children in Doodlebug is provided by their parents and guardians — we do not collect personal data from children directly.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your family's data as it deserves.
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the date modified, and we will tell you in the app about any material change before it takes effect.
